1. Palawan is one of the most popular destinations in the Philippines, but above this is the archipelago of Bacuit, considered one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Dozens of islands and islets, lagoons with turquoise waters, all surrounded by huge karst peaks… That is the picture perfect scenery you will discover during a boat trip to the famous Bacuit Bay.

The mesmerizing islands and islets of the Bacuit archipelago have become the playground for explorers and adventurers, who go from one island to another in search of the most beautiful beach. These trips made by bangka, a local boat, or by speedboat, are known locally as “island hopping tours” and allow tourists to discover the whole archipelago.

2. Vigan is an island, which used to be detached from the mainland by three rivers - the great Abra River, the Mestizo River and the Govantes River. It is unique among the Philippine towns because it is the country’s most extensive and only surviving historic city that dates back to the 16th century Spanish colonial period. Vigan was an important coastal trading post in pre-colonial times. Long before the Spanish galleons, Chinese junks sailing from the South China Sea came to Isla de Bigan through the Mestizo River that surrounded the island.

Vigan was an important coastal trading post in pre-colonial times. Long before the Spanish galleons, Chinese junks sailing from the South China Sea came to Isla de Bigan through the Mestizo River that surrounded the island. On board were sea-faring merchants that came to barter exotic goods from Asian kingdoms in exchange for gold, beeswax and other mountain products brought down by natives from the Cordilleras. Immigrants, mostly Chinese, settled in Vigan, intermarried with the natives and started the multi-cultural bloodline of the BigueƱos.
In the book, The Philippine Island, Vol. III, p. 276, Blair and Robertson, two letters of Governor General Guido de Lavezares to King Philip II of Spain mentions: “It seemed best to send Captain Juan de Salcedo with 70 or 80 soldiers to people the coast of Los Ilocano on the shores of the river called Bigan.” Salcedo then sailed from Manila on May 20, 1572 and arrived in Vigan on June 12, 1572

3. Kawasan Falls is the most popular tourist destination in the town. It is well visited by both foreign and local tourists. Kawasan Falls is a three-tiered cascade of crystal clear waterfalls. It is the highlight of Barangay Matutinao located in the municipal of Badian. The waterfalls makes up the Matutinao River System, also awarded many times as the cleanest inland body of water in the country. The water coming from the falls is clean and crystal clear.

From Cebu City Kawasan Falls can be reach by bus right at Cebu South Bus Terminal or at Librando Trans Inc. It will take 3 to 4 hours travel to reach Matutinao, a barangay in Badian where Kawasan Falls is located. You need to hike 15 to 30 minutes from the entry point in Barangay Matutinao to Kawasan Falls. The riverbank will lead you to the very heart of Kawasan Falls. Along the way you can view several wild tropical plants, birds etc. Kawasan Falls is surrounded by lush, green rainforest and its magical landscape is truly a magical paradise.
At the highest accessible point of Kawasan Falls, the source can be found. It is called Kabukalan "The Source", the fresh water rushes from a small cave and pours over the stones. Climbing up to Kabukalan needs a bit extra energy because it’s quite far from the second level.
